🍽️ Clay and Sip: Japanese Plate Making Set Workshop 🍷 Discover one of the oldest and most beautiful Japanese pottery traditions in this mindful and creative workshop. Together, we’ll make a set of three nesting plates — a serving plate, a side plate, and a condiment dish. Using wooden moulds and soft foam, you’ll learn the traditional method of shaping and refining your plates to create elegant, functional pieces with a timeless feel. This is one of our absolute favourite ways of making pottery — simple, relaxing, and deeply rewarding. Come along for a sip, some clay, and a chance to connect with the art of Japanese plate making. Once complete, your set will be glazed and twice fired, ready for collection in about four weeks. Class duration is roughly 1.5- 2.5 hours. This will depend on the design you choose, your skill level and speed. I never rush anyone- so take your time and enjoy the process. What to bring: BYO nibbles and sips. Glasses are provided. Firing Fees: All materials and firing fees are included. Pottery Breakage Clay is a fickle medium- I take great care in looking after all students pieces- but the nature of Pottery is that it can break for many reasons. No refunds are provided in the unfortunate event that your pottery breaks or cracks in the kiln. Pottery is a very delicate process. Refunds Please note that by purchasing this ticket you are securing a spot at an event that is usually booked out. I do not refund for cancellations. If you cannot make it- you are welcome to transfer your ticket to a friend.
