Kids begging you for a go on the wheel? Drop them off for a 2 hour Introduction to Clay session This is a combined wheel and handbuilding class. The kids will have an hour on the wheel. Where they will make a bowl. Then time for some handbuilding fun where they can make a couple of coasters and decorate with stamps Learning the wheel is a patient process, and we don’t expect the kids to get the hang of it in couple of hours. Experienced wheel throwers spend years perfecting their craft. This class is about having a go and having some fun. We will teach you about centering as you practice making a bowl. What the kids will make: A wheel thrown bowl which will be fired for you and glazed in a white glaze. 2 hand built coasters which will be fired for you and glazed in a white glaze. The class is 2 hours. After the class, your masterpieces will be left here to dry slowly, sanded, bisque fired, and hand glazed in a white glaze and fired again Ready for collection in approximately 5-6 weeks. Please note this class needs a minimum of 6 children to run and may be cancelled and refunded. What to bring: BYO morning tea Juice is provided. Firing Fees: All materials and firing fees are included. Pottery Breakage Clay is a fickle medium- I take great care in looking after all students pieces- but the nature of Pottery is that it can break for many reasons. No refunds are provided in the unfortunate event that your pottery breaks or cracks in the kiln. Pottery is a very delicate process. Refunds Please note that by purchasing this ticket you are securing a spot at an event that is usually booked out. I do not refund for cancellations. I will only refund in the event of a Covid Lockdown. If you cannot make it- you are welcome to transfer your ticket to a friend.
